Japanese garden in Clingendael

The Hague got all kind of treasures, and some are just for free. Like the Japanese garden in Clingendael.

After a really good cooked breakfast by Marne we went on our way again. Still pretty cold!!!

In the begin of the 20th century Lady Marguerite van Brienen (her nickname was Freule Daisy), let the garden designed after she made several trips to Japan. The gardens is full symbolic, like the red of the bridges that stand for joy, but also for scaring the bad ghosts.

The Japanese gardens is only open for 8 weeks a year.
